Thanks for visiting the Foremost website! I came to Foremost in May of 2009 after graduating from Wheaton College. Before Foremost, I worked at XR Trading, LLC in Chicago trading e-mini Dow and Eurodollar futures. My wife, Sarah, and I live in Batavia with our twins.
As a broker, I help people take advantage of futures, options on futures, and forex markets. These markets continue to provide great profit potential. However, all profit comes with risk. My goal is to explain the risks with honesty and integrity. Over time, we build a relationship based on mutual trust and respect. That means you can trust the information I give you. It also means I understand your goals and risk tolerance. There are many ways to take advantage of these markets. Look below for information on two areas about which I’m excited.
Managed Futures is an industry comprised of different money managers called Commodity Trading Advisors (CTAs). Investors have long looked to managed futures for diversification to their portfolio because of lack of correlation to the stock market. Furthermore, CTAs as a group have historically shown positive returns during crisis periods. In fact, it was Harvard Professor Dr. John Lintner who said:
“Portfolios…including judicious investments…in leveraged managed futures accounts show substantially less risk at every possible level of expected return than portfolios of stocks (or stocks and bonds) alone.”
Keep in mind that adding managed futures to a portfolio cannot protect you from loss and, in fact, can decrease a portfolio’s efficiency.
Whether you’re a seasoned trader or just starting, I recommend browsing our database of CTAs to get a feel for the type of programs available to you. Click on the link at the top of the page to sign up for a FREE password to our database. Then call me, and we’ll discuss some options.
One of my passions is to explain and implement “Scale Trading” strategies. Ever heard of Scale Trading? Not many have. And even fewer have an adequate grasp of the risks and rewards. I took the time to write an article on the subject that was eventually published in SFO Magazine. Click on the link to download a free copy:
“Harness the Motion of the Markets” by Colson Hauser.
As with all trading, it should be done with true risk capital. Contact me to see if this might be a fit for you.
“Colson has been informative and supportive in a difficult situation. Without any personal benefit to him, he graciously kept me informed. I was consistently briefed as to what was going on and how things were going to progress. His regular contact in an honest, matter of fact and courteous manner made the process tolerable. This attention and insights were greatly appreciated.”—Lee G.
